Our Craft
Six stages. One pair of hands.
Every ÉCLAT piece is made by a single artisan, start to finish, using methods our founders would recognise. This is what those months look like.

The Drawing
Every piece begins as gouache on grey paper — a technique unchanged since 1908. The painting is the contract: light, proportion and intent, fixed before any metal moves.

The Model
A carver renders the design in green wax, then plaster. The model is worn, weighed, corrected. Most designs die here; only the ones that feel inevitable proceed.

The Metal
Gold is alloyed in-house and drawn, forged or cast as the piece demands. Forged metal keeps its grain — the difference between a claw that warns and one that breaks.

The Setting
Stones are set under 10× magnification, each seat cut to the individual stone. A master setter places perhaps six stones an hour. We do not hurry them.
- 05
The Finish
Polishing is its own trade — three years of apprenticeship before touching a client piece. The final pass is done with a dry thread and patience.
- 06
The Signature
Every piece is hallmarked, numbered and photographed for the archive. If it returns to us in fifty years, we will know its whole biography.
