Why Platinum Remembers
Gold wears away; platinum merely moves. The metallurgy of the only metal that keeps every scratch.
When gold is scratched, metal is lost — a wedding band shaved microscopically thinner with every year of handshakes. Platinum behaves differently: a scratch displaces the metal but removes almost none of it.
Over decades this builds what jewellers call patina — a soft, silken surface made of ten thousand small events. Some clients ask us to polish it away. More, lately, ask us not to.
